Broken Hearts, Broken Dreams
Broken hearts broken dreams
Oh, how you shattered my soul
You took away everything I desired
You took away every dream I dreamt
Broken hearts, broken dreams
You smiled and wiped my tears
An arm around my shoulder
a promise that you’ll always stay
Broken hearts broken dreams
A dagger you threw
A pain so unbearable
But not from the dagger
But from the pain that I felt
From the pain of my heart
Broken hearts broken dreams
I gave you my heart and soul to keep
But you tossed it away like ragged old clothes
I gave you loyalty and trust forever
But you spit on it and tore it in pieces
Broke hearts broken dreams
There is always an end and soon it’ll be
Soon it’ll be everything I dreamt of
And everything I wished for
Broken hearts broken dreams
Trust is hard to give but easy to lose
But once it’s lost it may never be found
I may say the same to the feelings of the heart
I give you permission to hurt me with the truth
But never comfort me with the lie.
Broken hearts broken dreams
The start of each story is always the hardest
The start is always what deceives the viewer
The start is what decides the endings
Broken hearts broken dreams
That’s the end
I promise you that
It will always be the end for
The loss that’s been given and the
Hurt that’s been done.
