Death of a Flower
Lilacs erupted lavishly, on the trellis vines,
the pattern of a lovers arms entwined
Sunlight streamed in acres land,
not settling on the dew, but by taking
in the acquiescence of which the flowers grew
Slow petals too late,
allowing death to severe connection
on the stem, which bade life its title
and let the little merriment for them sing
One last wish before inferno,
one more caress of blowing wind,
the repose forever more,
for the beauty of the lilacs, the end.
