Self-Esteem
I can say I am pretty
With that certain appeal
But truly I’m witty
It’s my infamous seal
You look in my mirror
And see just a face
I see the same thing
And scoff in disgrace
I play as I can
With the cards I was dealt
But it seems like my hand
Has a blemish or welt
It’s far from perfection
This is something I know
A lack in each section
I try not to show
Though my head may seem high
My spirits are somber
I can look back and sigh
And sit there and ponder
The what if’s and oh well’s
Still haunt me today
The quality that sells
Is my needle in the hay
The inner confliction
Has troubled me so
Its time for eviction
The toxins must go
