A Falling Kingdom
I have read many poems
Of epic battles fought
About dangerous love
Like Guinevere and Sir Lancelot's
But this poem right here
Is the king of them all
It's a tale all about
When one kingdom did fall
The story doesn't start
With betrayal or greed
But when friends turned on friends
Because they didn't agree
Once united, one nation
All people lived free
Until prejudice arouse
Innocent people forced to flee
Everything was questioned
Is this fair is this not?
It was every man for himself
So survive or be lost
They shared in the power
To choose their own leader
Then turned on their choices
To liars and cheaters
Ignoring their fathers
And the peace the once sought
Forgetting the bloodshed
And battles they fought
The richer get richer
As the poor fade away
Traveling full speed
To soon darker days
Slowly they die
Killing each other
Hurting their sister
Fearing their brother
Demolished, destroyed
Is how the kingdom fell
Gone with no trace
To it's own gruesome hell
Unless...
Unless they remember
What they worked for together
Remember what they said
United forever
Forget all the bad things
Don't let the hate linger
With no taking sides
And no pointing fingers
Working hard and together
For the unity that they yearn
Let this mistake
Be a lesson to learn
