Sunset
My favorite time of day
Is when I watch God paint
First the blue must be washed away
Slowly, though
Only small bits at a time
Then the canvas is covered by a
Unique palette of colors
Blazing yellows
The softest orange
Pink that is the color of smiles
Twilight violets
The brightest colors drip off of the brush
And paint the world around me
Highlighting buildings
Reflecting off water
Dancing through the trees
At the climax of the evening
Finally, the entire world
Is splashed with the darkest hues
Small points of light are scattered
Throughout the sky
Now today's masterpiece is complete
