In a World of Hate
So much hate in the world…
So much hate and no love.
As the wind around me swirled
I realized the life is kind of
Like a rare gift and a curse.
For many, life is wonderful,
But for us, it could not be worse.
We always have to be careful,
Protecting our hearts from the one who hurt us most.
The pain doesn’t come from an outside source,
But rather from inside our own minds.
These voices are part of a nearly unbeatable force.
In front of us, we watch as our life unwinds,
While behind us our family and friends just let us hide.
The scars are there constantly to remind us
That we are separate from everything on the outside.
We eventually feel a numbness from all emotion and thus
We must seek some way in which we can feel.
Love is not a thing of reality,
Not in this world, our world.
The only thing left is hate.

Even now, being happy, I still find truth in this poem.
