In Memory Of
We all walked the same paths
Yours was more difficult but we thought you’d last
Side by side you always put on a smile
But sometimes that smile would wither
And together we water it back to life
Through good times and bad times
And some crazy times
There was always hope
Hanging on a rope in the middle of the room
We grabbed on tight
I held on so strong
But I am still too weak
It hurts
To see your trail tainted with needles
It hurts
To see with your eyes sores on someone heart
IT HURTS
To know that there is nothing you can do to change anything
And your hands strong and full of life
Becomes worthless before your own eyes
And those eyes that cried an ocean full of tears
Blurs the true vision of the one you hold dear
And along that path where you feel everything will be alright
You wake up one day and see no one by your side
But deep inside you know that person is at peace
No more danger will be placed before their feet
