In The Dark
Alone in the night I stared at the ceiling,
My thoughts turned to pain in the dark solitude.
The world looked bleak, empty and unfeeling,
And emptiness converged with my black attitude.
The lack of friends cast a shadow on my soul,
And no blood pumping rhythm could lift the dread.
Through the darkness came a melancholy toll,
And the slow vibrations of nostalgia played in my head.
Then through the night came a peaceful remembrance,
And a smile played on those once sullen lips.
For the thought of you came into my existence,
Bringing an end to that loneliness which grips.
