The Music & the Monster
You stand on the edge
Just about to step
The stage before you
Holding your breath
The people around you
Move in clumps
Lost in a trance
Lost in their passions or love
Yet you are afraid
For just over this edge
The chains rattle to be unlocked
To release your flesh
One move, one turn
A boom sparks in the air
One motion, one arm
Your so-called pure soul is in despair
The monster growls beneath
The lust of hot passions
The music begins to call
With the voice of a siren
Boom! Flash!
The monster grabs hold of you
Echo! Whisper!
Your eyes change a different color
Stomp, fly!
Your blood boiling in your veins
Smile, grin
Your decievement plays its games
But once the music has stopped
And all is cool, collected, and calm
The monster goes back into its cage
Waiting for the next song
