The Face of Modern Beauty
This face is
Featureless, it's stripped of
Feeling
Of meaning, but I guess
The world thought it would be
Calming
Inaggressive
The modern face
Of beauty.
But –
To me, at least – beauty is
Many things, but never
Half-hearted, half-erased
Always glorious
Sometimes powerful, raw
Even when it is
Serene, subdued –
What you mistake for
Sophistication
Is really artifice
Is just cold emptiness
A gaping void, straining to
Fill itself with
Money, with
Makeup
With
Empty
Eyes and
Vapid smiles.
