Trust
Trust is an honor you must earn,
Through a lesson that you must learn.
It's a gut feeling in ones heart,
To believe in you at least, for a start.
Trust is a gift owned by one,
Maybe a father, maybe his son.
What good is trust to be known,
If it doesn't also need to be shown.
If you have trust to start,
It isn't treasured close to your heart.
If trust is not a thing treasured,
It is thought a thing not measured.
Walking beyond that honor here,
Leads to a shameful lifelong career.
But if at first that trust was earned,
Then surely to keep it you have yearned.
A gift to always be wanted,
For it will never make you feel haunted.
Yes if trust is earned because its wanted,
It will not ever be used or taken for granted.
