A perfectly abnormal day!
In the morning, I was caught up in blankets
I muddled through and didn’t fret
My room was the usual mess
Filled with food, ornaments and blocks of chess
My dog left behind a horrible stench
And cried to be taken to the park-side bench
I ignored and went to make porridge and toast
And my boss’s call made my brain roast
Why can’t I be left alone on weekends?
Why does the peaceful road have a bend?
I have a lot of grocery shopping to do
Veggies, bread, cookies and perfume too
Yuck! The porridge was too plain
And my clothes got damp in the snow and rain
Why is this such a difficult day?
Why can’t I keep stupid things at bay?
I moved on to talk to Betty
As she was having a tea party
I saw what dress to wear
But my dog bit my pant to tear
After much compromise, I took Doggie to walk
And that’s where I got my biggest shock!
I had forgotten to talk to mum
Uff! I’ll probably get hit in my bum!
I did my shopping with peace
But barking Doggie didn’t give me ease
Poor him, was I being too rude?
If Doggie had a mouth, I would have been sued!
I bought a snack for Doggie to munch
And happily forgot about my lunch
As I reached home, I was already late
Right now, I was supposed to be at Betty’s gate!
Dressed myself into something decent
Which I hadn’t worn too recent
I drove through the traffic to Betty’s abode
And thought of telling her my apologetic ode
I grabbed Betty and saw her blush
Her body seemed to have the adrenaline rush
And THEN I saw you standing there
Your beauty was too much to bear
As you caught my eye, I froze
As if I was getting a drug dose
Your wink almost killed my knees
Introduce yourself, fair man, please!
I tried to act normal, but it was so hard!
Will you keep my heart safe and always on guard?
If my day had to be so horrible today
He end was prettier than words can say
I would accept a world of pain
If only I could dance with you in the rain
When you’d hold me in your muscular arm
And blind me with your lovely charm
It was pleasant meeting you, gentleman
And I melted like butter on a pan
I was so enchanted to meet you
I hope you can say the same too
