Veils of Darkness
Why must two yell
While a child cringes in the corner
Can’t they tell
Their arguing has worn her
The eyes can tell
The stories of pain
The cause to yell
The struggle the strain
But they don’t subside
They keep right at it
She’s done with the ride
She’s sick of all of it
She doesn’t hold back
The tears that come
She’s all veiled in black
She’s scared of what is to come
The parents
They stop
They see what they’ve done
But then one starts up
And all hell has begun
She steps out of the darkness
Away from the corner
And more veils of blackness
Fall out upon her
She’s trying to stop
But it just flows
Like a link went *pop*
And out the scream goes
The parents fall silent
They don’t know what’s wrong
Too enthralled in their yelling
To say anything at all
She stops
And she stares
Too choked from the tears
Turns away, and behind her…more veils
What is to become
Of the family now
It went from
Happy to this…how?
The veils of darkness can tell
Take a layer off and read
What caused these people to yell
Take a layer off and just plainly read
