My Cancerous Fate
I sometimes feel like the cigarettes I smoke;
Burning persistently from one side
While Fate speeds the process from the other,
Sucking me into her lungs
And expelling the useless smoke once I am spent,
Nothing more than a filter
To be crushed beneath Her heel,
My life rolling away
On a cool night breeze.
