You're my Sun
Before you walked away you whispered, “don’t you cry.”
But I couldn’t help but have tears well up in my eyes.
And all that I can do is keep on praying.
Hoping that you change your mind and plan on staying.
But I can’t hold you back; it’s something I won’t do,
I hope that you are happy with something new.
So as I sit here alone, wishing you were here
I remember all the times you comforted my every fear.
Then why did you leave me, and how could you go?
Will you even tell me, or will I ever know?
I finally thought we had things, going right.
We had our dreams within reach, all within our sight.
But now since you’re gone I don’t know where to turn
I don’t know what I know, and I don’t know what to learn.
You were the one thing I could turn to when I had lost everything I had.
And now where do I go when I’m feeling down and sad.
You were always there and gently you led.
Now I sit here humming our song softly in my head.
The only thing that comforts me is thinking of the many things we’ve done.
And knowing that you were my source of light, when I couldn’t see the sun.
