The Laughing Tree.
Sounds of laughter,
shades of blue,
what are we after,
I ask you.
The things we do
and the words we say,
what does it mean,
if they go away?
Memories of shadows
dancing in the rain,
did it all happen,
was it just a game?
Red sunrises, pink skies.
Colour everywhere,
in my eyes.
If the world was an ocean,
would we all swim?
Or live underwater,
in ugly metal tins?
Do we aim for the stars,
or maybe mars?
Join the race,
to fiddle around in space?
Take trees that are green,
what do they mean?
Flowers that are red,
they'll soon be dead.
Dark have been my dreams of late,
filled with sadness,
filled with hate.
If I knew what it all meant,
I'd tell you.
But for now, I just smile and,
hope shines through.
