Down the Rabbit Hole
I followed the rabbit
down his hole
thinking to escape
but I only found myself
trapped
I knew this was wrong
Alice had not been here
He leered at me
out of the dark
urging me on
and I stumbled
towards him
Knowing this was wrong
Alice had not been here
Fear gripped me
and I looked back
but the hole had closed
leaving me no choice
but forward
Knowing this was wrong
Alice had not been here
So I followed him
through the nightmare
the hellish darkness that
ate around me
Knowing this was wrong
Alice had not been here
Somewhere on the edges
light danced,
but eluded me
and then
the rabbit left me
left me
knowing this was wrong
Alice had not been here
And then
a profile stepped
out of the shadow
the thin figure moved toward me
ratty blond hair barely there
and she said
Not all rabbit holes
lead where they should
And not all stories speak the truth
And I faded into the dark
still knowing this was wrong
but Alice, was here
