Burning The Past
I’ll try to put the pieces back
But nothing seems to fit
The broken seams of yesterday
Are helping me to quit
I can’t get my fingers
To loosen their grip
I can’t fight the feeling
Teeth sinking, biting my lip
Everything’s so pale
Faded edges, ripped desire
Photographs of what used to be
The story of a liar
And all I see is burning
Memories drowning in fire
A lighter in my hand
Forcing a tired smile
