Push and Shove: The Holocaust
Push and shove
Each hand lays more than bruises
On the body of each that passes the doors
They bleed their shrieks and shouts
They leak their hopes and humanity
They lose their selves in sorrows
In deaths, in endings, in nothing
Restless eyes line their lives
Ever-moving and stained with memories
A cage to capture those unfortunate
It hears no more than screams
And worse than the screams: the silence
A sound that sinks through the roof
And curls to the skies
Their smoke reaching to the ends of the earth
