What is Beauty?
What is beauty
But a mask
Covering your true self
Deteriorating over time
What is beauty
But random chance
A one-in-a-million combination of genes
That happen to form a perfect face
What is beauty
But our whimsical interpretation
Of impossible perfection
As likely to change as a quivering breeze
What is beauty
But something the rich and powerful use
To become more rich and powerful
What is beauty
But something we all strive for
To the point of injuring ourselves
And out character beyond repair
What is beauty
But a temporary faked persona
Worn by those “lucky” few
What is beauty
But something we all think we want
Not realizing the consequences
The judgments, the envy, the scorn
It entails
What is beauty
But something thin and shallow
Not worthy of the wealth and esteem
It is given
So instead I will ask,
What is True beauty
And what is it worth to you?
