My Umbrella

All this time I thought you were my sunshine
lighting up my world
and without you
everything would be dark
Now I realize that you were my bright yellow umbrella
shielding me from the rain
and without you
everything is dark
and wet
and cold
I prepared myself for the worst
But life without you is much harder than I thought it would be
