Lost In My Dreams Again
she tired of her empty visions
and the melancholy feeling
of uselessness they left her
always dreaming,
never doing.
"today," she declared
with a tremor of delight
"I will put away
these mind games
and make something
of my fantasies."
she had pronounced
such ideas before
but they lay scattered
on the floor
always dreaming,
never doing.
she opened a box
within her mind
to store away
the unused thoughts
and upon lifting
the box's lid
she discovered the dreams
she'd put away before
in similar events
of attempting to
remodel her train of thought
her eye caught
on a far away vision
in which she took
much fancy
she removed it
from its case
to get a better look
hours she sat there
hypnotized
the ideas replaying
in her eyes
then she turned to the box
and picked up another
and another
and another
until she was encircled
in her past broken dreams
forgetting the task
of putting them back
always dreaming,
never doing.
and here she still remains
on the cold hardwood floor
legs gone numb from sitting
yet she doesn't falter
in losing herself
within these forgotten memories
always dreaming.
