One Final Day
One final day in a beautiful place
One final day in that one not lonely space
Though I will be back again
It does not make this goodbye easy
One final day surrounded by the people that I love
Funny to think that I've known them less than a year
These next three months will take more than a little shove
And I will have to learn to face my fears
My fear of being left alone and forgotten
My fear of losing the people that I hold dear
My fear that not one person will care
My fear that before has always stopped me in my tracks
And I know I'm going to want them there
I know that I will want to see their smiles
I know that I will need there help
But I can only hope that I will learn to ask for it
But for now, one final day
A day that should not be forgotten
A day for goodbyes
And a day for promises for the future
My time here seemed so short
No longer than this day
But my bond with these people is not short
It grows longer every day
And it will not fade
Not even after this final day.
