You made me vulnerable
You took a look at me,
Really looked
You could see passed it all,
All the scars that lined my body and defined my ungodly history,
My heart was calloused,
No ability to connect.
To feel.
To even care.
You began to speak,
A spark went off inside me
You asked what hurt,
I stood there unearthed
Naked and cold
I parted my lips and began to unveil all the frail things that impale me,
Nothing I said altered the way you felt for me,
It's unfathomable that I could amaze thee,
You see me as an angel;
Too fragile to touch,
I begin to ramble,
Unraveling the insecurities,
You pick me up and hush me
You tell me I am your princess, you love every piece of me
A tear runs down my cheek as I considered the future you have with me
Lost in love,
I've found hope; so I write you a note...
Elope with me?
I'll be your bride and give you all that's left of me.
