Tears Beneath My Still Beating Heart
I have climbed the tallest towers,
In your fair castle which I have journeyed so far to see,
With my own eyes blinded by sweet beauty and precious power,
I use my heart to realize bitter reality.
I have learned to cry long ago,
But today I find my eyes dry,
The pain only lashes out in the soul,
When one realizes that all great hopes must die.
Who will ever be your savior?
When Gods, happiness and sunshine cease?
The one to free you from life's bitter flavors,
It must be someone, but that someone is not me.
When you are showered with melancholy or feel weak,
Know that I will feel just as blue,
And when you find the one you seek,
I will probably be happy for you two.
While I wish that I could wash away all the pain,
Shrug it off and say "your loss",
I know that I'd have nothing to gain,
For my soul has lost color like a winter's moss
Yet, I cannot sit here in sorrow forever,
While the light goes over hills and fades away,
I refuse to sit back and say "whatever",
Until my heart's desire's go astray.
So I will chase the sun into the west,
Over the mountains and across the sea,
I will make it my life not to see it set,
And perhaps, one day, you might find some beauty in me
