Vines are Humans, Humans are Vines
Vines are humans
Humans are vines
But, you see-
They don't have eyes
They do not see
Destruction
They do not have lips
They do not thank
Those below them
They do not have hearts
They do not use
Compassion
They have no control
They cannot resist
Temptation
We have these things
We have the ability to change
From a nuisance
We have a new chance
To help
Not harm
To listen
And learn
Vines are humans
Humans are vines
People cut us down so
We climb further
And strive
For greatness
To reach out
and touch
the sun
Look down
And see
What you have
Done
Is it worth the destruction?
Vines are humans
Humans are vines
Both species
Intertwined
The same goals
The same trail of tears
Littered behind them
Vines are humans
Humans are vines
They lift their leafy limbs
To the sky, to the sun
It never comes
To them
They need it
Vines are humans
Humans are vines
So they climb
The sun tickles and
taunts them
Temptation moving them forward
They follow
Vines are humans
Humans are vines
The light blinds
Their eyes
They do not see the
Weeds
Trees
They harm, they overcome
On their journey to the sun
