The Lasting Vow
As we stood
under the sunlight
in a meadow
we made a vow
to love each other always.
We made a vow that would last forever,
or so I thought.
Never did I know
what fate would bring
to make a rift
in our promise.
Now I stand on the meadow
where we made our vow
All alone.
Alone with an empty space next to me
where you used to be.
