Keep Going
Here I stand tonight
Sore.
After all, a day off of school, is not a day off of socialization.
And as well, boys will be boys.
Here I stand tonight
Tired.
After all, my father is aged, and I must shovel most of the snow.
And as well, I have had time to be.
Here I stand tonight
Angered that the pieces just don’t fit.
After all, I know where the damned pieces are, and where they go.
And as well, I can’t put them together.
Here I stand tonight
Exasperated, but still having aspirations.
After all, I am prepared for what may come to be.
And as well, I silently hope.
Here I stand tonight
Unmoving, but I must keep going.
After all, there is much to go for, even in the darkest hour.
And as well, I have convinced myself of my inevitable fate.
Here I stand tonight
Unmoving.
No, I have begun to move.
After all, life hits, but I hit harder.
Life is strong, but I have become stronger
And as well, I am unrelenting and still not relented upon.
Here I stand tonight
Dreaming.
After all, I silently hope of what might come to be.
And as well, boys will be boys.
