For the Love of the Game
As the sweat trickles down my face
I run to first base
Out of the corner of my eye
I see the opponent and the sky
As she throws the ball
I trip and fall
But I get up
As the ball touches the rough
I try to run the space
From first to second base
The distance is long
But I will be strong
I push the limits
Within what feels like minutes
I wait for my teammate to hit
While I spit
She hits a home-run
And we run
We run to home base
And feel like we are in space
We won
With the will to run
