"You aren't going to impose the patriarchal paradigm on ME." Alaska Young

I see his lips meeting
closing
meeting once more,
but I do nothing but dive,
plunge,
into his personal sea.
The waves roar as his livid passion
escapes his lips,
but I stare;
wander
in his oceans.

The author's comments:
I wrote this piece before I started dating my present-boyfriend. He honestly has the clearest, brightest of blue eyes, just like the Caribbean sea. And I would catch myself not even listening to what he was saying, just staring into his eyes like a love-sick lunatic (Yeah, I was pretty crazy about him.

You can't make up anything anymore. The world itself is a satire. All you're doing is recording it. - Art Buchwald

Love this poem! I love the metaphor of the ocean. It makes it very mysterious and intruiging in a beautiful way. keep on writing(:

It Can Only Fly When It Needs To.

I got your point across in this poem, though your "Author's comment" made it much more clear to what you meant.

"Nothing is impossible; the word itself says 'I'm possible'!" -Audrey Hepburn

Even though not every one can relate to this, I think every one can feel the intense emotions and details. Good work!

To love is to be vulnerable; Triumph is born out of struggle; We notice shadows most when they stand alone in the midst of overwhelming light.

I've never had experience in this, but this is sweet. It's also great; 5/5! : ) thank you, for sharing this!

Hahaha, yeah, this really isn't my best piece. I was just trying to get something posted right when I made my account! However I think the point of reading poetry is to interpret different words into something else.
