You...
I was asked “Who are you?”
I told them my name, but I knew that’s not what they meant
I can’t honestly answer
Who am I?
Well I’m a person isn’t that enough?
I have feelings like everyone else
But I can’t compare myself to others
Because I know we are all different
I do know a few things about myself
Like I know I ache for the love of another, but only time can tell if that will happen
Would you believe me if I told you no one knows the real me?
Would you believe me if I told you I slap a fake smile on my face everyday so no one will question my life?
Or how about my laugh?
I don’t know what my real laugh is…
But I know I’m not the only one who doesn’t know themselves
All we see is what’s on the outside and I’m perfectly fine with that
Because I look happy
On the inside…..
I don’t know if I would ever let anyone in
So I’m asking you
“Who Are You?”
