Don't Look
Don’t look she’s breaking down again
She’s lost all reason and logic
Don’t look she’s leaving town again
She has no place to go
But she needs to get out of here
Don’t look she’s back to self-harm again
She likes to watch herself bleed
But her scars are permanent
Good thing she thinks they’re pretty
Don’t look she’s cutting her arm again
She likes the knife she chose
But she wishes it was sharper
Good thing it isn’t
We don’t want to lose her
Don’t look she’s crying again
She doesn’t know why
But she hates every tear that falls
Good thing she’s numb
We don’t want her to feel them
Not after what happened last time
Don’t look she’s lying again
She promised this was the last time
But last time was also the last time
Good thing he notices
We don’t want it to get too far
Not after the joy she got from it
Her scars keep growing in numbers
Don’t look she’s watching him leave again
She doesn’t want him to
But she can’t stop him
Good thing she has a replacement
We wouldn’t want her to be lonely
Not after she nearly froze that night
Her skin was too cold
It was just her luck that no one answered their phone
Don’t look she’s starting to grieve again
She just wants to understand why he’s gone
But she doesn’t see it
Good thing she’s stable
We wouldn’t want to imagine what would happen
Not after she broke once
Her mind was empty
It was just her going through the motions
Every moment was worse than the last
Don’t look she’s losing her mind again
She cries when she’s drunk
But she smiles when she’s sober
Good thing she’s a good actress
We wouldn’t want anyone to find out
Not after she saw what would happen
Her best friend was taken from her
It was for his own good
Every person she talked to said he was safe
He’s long gone now
Don’t look it’s finally time again
She’s writing so she can breathe
But her words want to come out wrong
Good thing she can erase them
We wouldn’t want them to be permanent
Not after we saw what permanent does to her
Her life was in shambles
It took her too long to put them back together
Every puzzle piece that was scattered across the floor
He shattered them then left without helping her pick up
Like a reckless child he destroyed her
Don’t Look
