Apollo
I am a tense weapon
And I can withstand time
In every beast encounter
A deadly pendulum
Borne back ceaselessly
By Eve's eternal curse
Released with a whimper
Daring to disturb the universe
Now Adam's sacrificial rib
Then Libra's fowl ornament
A necessary vulnerability
And rare virtue together went
Once you accept the universe
All accidents make sense
Because if ignorance be clover
Sam's prairie hath no fence
When vocations are unknown
The hours overwhelm me
Supposing life is fleeting
A sharp, blinding reality
But I will love my crooked neighbor
With my faithful heart
When black blood makes me mobile
And wisdom does her part
A foe's death by arrow
Arrives with savage pleasure
I hold him and I know
My power has not measure
