A Forbidden Love
You were the ocean
and I drug my feet along the endless powdery sand
in awe of not just the
sparkle gleaming from
the surface,
but the beauty gushing
a thousand miles deeper
than I knew;
But when the darkness
glosses over the painted sky and
snuffs out the blazing candle
hanging amongst the timeless
clouds for the night,
not only gone is the day,
but are the chances of
you and I,
For the grass appears green
as far as the eye does meet,
but just out of sight is
the start to a barren field and
love will not grow there
despite its pleas.
