The chosen one

l walk into
the mess
of a
narrow
room
they
call a
hallway
voices shout
and jeer
and scream
and yell
out to me
never thinking
about me
though
l walk past
wondering
again
why
it was me
that
they have
decided
was the
one
the chosen
one
is not what
books
make it out
to be
the chosen one
is an
awful
feeling
that you
get when
you know
that you
are the one
they have chosen
to attack
