The Way
I love the way you glance at me...
The way you smirk when you know you’ve aggravated me
The way your eyes make me feel safe,
When I look deeply into them.
How under any kind of stress,
I end up laughing in your presence.
I love the way you touch me as if I am as fragile as glass,
The way you care to protect me as if I am your child,
Treating me as if a precious gemstone,
Talking to me as if you didn’t care who heard,
Understanding me as if I were part if you,
Holding my hand as if you’d never let go
I love the way you say what needs to be said,
The way you call me out when I’m being mindless.
Correcting me when I am wrong,
Fighting me so you don’t lose me.
I love the way you hold me to promises,
Making sure I am okay every step I take
Out of your arms..
