Feels like we are in cage

trying to escape.
Knowing and seeing the nice weather,
like it is taunting us.
Then the count down begins.
The time almost everyone has been waiting for.
Getting closer and closer.
We sit and stare at the clock
for we know it is almost here.
“Ring, Ring.” It is finally here. Summer.
We’ve been waiting for what seems like forever.
But its here now,
as we are excited and eager
to see what’s in store for ourselves.
The time to relax. The time for no early mornings
or not having to deal with homework.
Sitting around a bonfire with your friends,
almost as if its picture perfect,
never wanting it to end.
Having adventures and making memories.
It seems like there is so much time,
but before you know it,
school comes zooming towards us again.
The shopping for school supplies.
Then there is the fear of going back.
And its done.
Summer is over.
We start the new year
remembering and laughing
of what we did in the summer.
Soon it becomes the end of fall.
Then winter starts to creep in,
then all of a sudden spring shows up.
And before we know it
the count down begins again.
Getting closer and closer.
