If the Moon Bleeds
Come with me and we will walk through the shreds of forest light
Then in the cracks of leafy green we'll lie and watch the starry night
We'll make a temporary home between the spots of massive trees
In the patch of the woods where the moonlight bleeds
Sunlight burned through the cotton sky
Glimmering through and blinding my eyes
My lungs grew gardens, you made them grow
Once fresh air now makes me choke
You bloomed roses in my cheeks
You ran rivers through my veins
You were the soil under my feet
You made me breathe hurricanes
But now the flowers wilt and the waters run cold
The branches hang limp with no leaves to hold
Frozen solid and all seems lost
A heart encased in permafrost
Snow in my nose
Mist in my mouth
Hail down my throat
Too far south
Now I suffocate in the air of memories that start to fade
And bury myself in the ones that we never even made
I spit grey smoke between my teeth and out into the winter air
And pray I'll awake to see that you're still lying with me there
I’m a fish and they all say there are plenty others in the sea
But you're the water, I'm stuck on land, and I really need to breathe

I really hope this isn't awful. Sorry if it is.
