I have but one dream—
That you and I may be the same.
One day, one day!
I imagine the ground will be dry,
Booted,
And full.
I imagine I will be hungry,
Starving for more.
One day, one day!
I will taste the compound soup—
The culture of your kind.
One day, I hope to them
I too will bind!
I will meet them—
The carrots,
The potatoes,
The chicken.
One day, one day!
Ellis,
Reach out your hand to me!
I long for your holy components.
To the sky
We will build—
The streets will be filled!
One day, one day!
