Broken Truth MAG
We are born into a life of welcome.
The truth is hidden by tales of magic and
laughter galore.
We are not told of the world as they know it,
for they know we may come asking for more.
That very more may deceive us,
may shut us up for the rest of our lives.
Our innocence becomes broken,
as we see fire, war and hate in our eyes.
Our hearts fill with sorrow,
it weighs us down with a look at the news.
We look away for a hope of tomorrow,
that same tomorrow we were certain we knew.
But will it ever come,
will it ever save us?
Because that is what we were taught to believe.
We’ll spend our lives searching,
for the truth that we all hoped to perceive.
Some will eventually find it,
but many more will not have such good luck.
The earth will continue its orbit,
but our bodies, our minds, are still stuck.
