Where I'm From
I come from late night movies filling my head,
trying to fly and then falling in dread,
It’s fine I learned I’m not Peter Pan,
Me and my cousin always forming a plan,
Drawing on the walls we drew windows,
and the world we both saw,
Little trouble makers
That's what they’d call us,
The Mac and Cheese Gang
No one could stop us,
Playing army in the den,
Laser guns and ridiculous outfits,
Running around,
being told to be quiet,
Riding bikes in the cul de sac,
Crawling inside for an afternoon snack,
The summer sun couldn't tear us down,
Handle bar frills,
We were the coolest kids around,
The ice rink was our favorite spot,
I would hang with all my boys,
Night time we’d settle down waiting for our Dads to come around
Telling us stories from when they were young,
The craziest things they’ve ever done,
Kung fu lessons with Master Park,
I wanted my skills to stay Bruce Lee sharp,
Childhood was fun and games
if anything went wrong only ourselves were to blame,
The Mac and Cheese Gang
We’d scream our name,
Do our team dance and scare everyone away
staying strong till this day.
