the rubber deviates
venturing away from drooping boulevards
white-lined in parallel precision
a spectacle of cracked tar reaching
onward and onward
beside purring machines of haste momentum
and shanks from red stoplights
we veer off the broadway
following the spindles of trails, rock lined
knuckles clench tighter on handlebars
and above they come – reversed geysers of light
bellowing from the sky through a tight net
of hunters jade
now we enter the free lands
diverged away from destination
we drive – biding rikes.
