I am from the riverbank

And the sea shores.
I’m from dogs barking
Because of boats going by.

I am from the partial quiet road
With a nice breeze going by.
I’m from the kids playing
Down the road
To them running all over.

I am from the big porch out back
With an open field full of people.
I’m from a family of laughter
To a family of sad times.

I am from packing up suitcases
And going on endless vacations
To staying at home
For weeks upon weeks.
I’m from the deep times
To the high points in life.

I am from a city
That many don’t know
But a city that’s full
Of lights and laughter.
