The Era of Electronics
“I promise to create more jobs for the people” booms a candidate’s voice on TV
yet robots are replacing people as he speaks
no longer is there a person behind the counter
or a waiter at the table
swipe your card,
click the screen
if it can be done digitally,
why hire employees?
after all, you don’t have to pay computers
this is the mindset behind the big corporate bosses
a computer doesn’t need the money
it doesn’t have a family to feed
or bills to pay
does it make sense, then, that it’s replacing those that do?
just wait and see
the only working people left
will be those developing technology.

I was just thinking about this troubling subject the other day and I decided to vent using words, with a poem :) (my favorite way to vent).
