Monster
It was the ugliest beast I had ever seen,
and there it stood,
hovering over me.
It was a man.
His appearance was average,
his clothes not expensive,
and his expression not giving anything away.
He stood on two legs,
breathed,
and pumped blood in and out of his heart
just like I did.
In and out of his heart
just like I did.
That was the most terrifying part.
His eyes stared into mine
And I saw myself in their reflection.
