Always Be Near
The dots of infinitive ends,
match the colour of your eyes
as they read the lines of the story
that is a form of my immortal soul.
Forever my essence will continue
to climb the mountains of skin
that covers the interior of your body.
You break down the salt in my tears,
cleansing the water
so you’re able to drink it
when you’re thirsty
out of an artificial bottle.
Keep your sense of me
in things that will always be near-
a tree, a pebble, or maybe
the eyes of a child that share the same colour
as mine.
