To You Whom the Pressure has Made Shrewd
You are a silly thing, you oblivious girl you.
Who has sat idly by, bemoaning his distance
Who would weep, wishing for days of the past
Who lost sight of the patterns that played right in front of you.
I must applaud you for your innocence
For your sweet and gentle thoughts of friendship
Of Brotherhood.
He thought of much more than brotherhood my dear
His thoughts ran shallowly along your skin
Taking pauses to gawk at the womanly swells along your body
He did not understand your emotions
Did not understand the essence of your being
He would never see your sweet stubborn shyness
The trait that runs so deeply
That denied your feelings to the outside world
That would not allow out even a drop of how deeply enamored you were
Thank god for that.
This is to you who the pressure has made shrewd
The girl whose strength only now becomes known.
Who watched helplessly as he changed
Watched mutely as he seduced the other girls
Watched the sad girls falling for him
Watched them fall over and over
Until it is as practiced as a favored strategy game
You understand now, and you shall not be tricked
Your heart shall stay away
Shall stand mutley by as the truth dances over you
For this pressure has made you shrewd
Has made you sharp
Has made you unable to accept those sweet lies that were fed to you
The pressure has broken him
And he has sharpened you with his edges.
