Charm
Listen to the caged birds songs
colored with hope and woven with prayer
hear how her voice fills up the room
And rids it of all its despair.
She embodies strength
Yet she resembles grace
She is a sunshine canary
as delicate as lace.
Searching for her audience
She circles the cage
Her heart falls to the floor
As she perches up on the stage.
She wants to be loved
She wants to be heard
She wants to conquer the world
But sadly it reminds her she is only a bird.
And so she faces the wild
Even just from the looking glass
As she watches the freed ones
Picking at the grass.
And soon she realizes
That captured beauty only wilts away
And the pinks and blues in her mind
Slowly turn to gray.
Charm captures your interest
As well as your soul
It throws you in an empty cellar
Without the chance of parole.
