to you, from me
dear you,
hi!
it’s me.
you know,
me.
sitting here,
writing,
thinking of
you.
i wanted to draw a picture of you, but then
i remembered
drawing was ours,
never mine.
so i wrote instead.
that’s mine, always has been.
maybe the only thing that ever was.
sometimes,
i don’t know.
maybe i never know.
but either way, i’m writing now.
you
are all that’s in my mind.
i sat, all ready to write something,
anything,
and you
are all that’s in my mind.
so i’m here,
writing this,
this thing you’ll never read—
no.
you’ll never read it,
see,
for the same reason i can no longer draw.
you’ll never read this.
so i itch to pick up my pen that was
never
really
just
mine,
i itch to send you this thing,
but i won’t.
i won’t touch the pen.
i won’t draw with it, but i won’t throw it away either,
and you’ll never read this.
be happy.
enjoy life,
keep being you,
keep laughing,
keep drawing
because you can.
i love you.
goodbye.
love,
me
