Perfection Hidden Behind Perfume
The smell roaming around the room
The bottle lying there
Half-empty no longer in use
Beginning to pick it up and twist the lid off
Letting your finger press down
The smell cascading out
Memories floating back into your brain
Your mother spraying it on
Happy she was given a gift by her daughter
Delighted to own it
It was her way of feeling loved by you
You come back to reality
Realizing your mother isn’t there
Crying inside
The last smell you have of her
Is that perfume
You dare not to use it
Or throw it away
It is important for you to keep it
Everyday smelling its scent
Bringing back painful memories
Coming back to your reality
Noticing that person is gone
No life anymore
How you miss them so dearly
Seeing your heart break everyday over that person
Because of a memory left behind
As it shall sit where it was once left
Forever
